I think that many people who are just discovering bare minerals makeup can be slightly confused with how to apply it. One thing that you need to understand is that mineral makeup stands on its own. My girlfriend the other day was using some of her new Everyday Minerals foundation that she just received, and she had never used mineral makeup before. She ended up putting on her regular foundation, and then put the mineral foundation on top of it. She was worried that because the mineral makeup seemed just like a powder that she wouldn’t get enough coverage using just mineral makeup by itself.

The next day she tried using just the mineral foundation by itself, and to her surprise, it gave her complete coverage. She looked much better, and really didn’t look like she was wearing any makeup at all, as opposed to when she used the liquid foundation she looked like she had a thick layer of makeup on her face.
The makeup of mineral makeup (there’s a tongue twister!) allows it to adhere to your skin and give you complete coverage without the need for a liquid foundation. However, if you would like, many women often use a moisturizer on their face before applying the mineral foundation. Just remember that it is not necessary to use liquid makeup under your mineral makeup. If you do, you will lose out on many of the advantages that bare minerals makeup provides.
