What shoppers say
Most shoppers appreciate how quickly this serum absorbs and how seamlessly it fits into a layered routine — it sits comfortably under moisturizer and makeup without pilling or tackiness. Many report a visible improvement in overall skin tone and texture after consistent use, and several note they've kept it as a permanent part of their regimen.
The main caveat: at least one reviewer found the consistency heavier than expected for a clarifying formula, which was problematic for acne-prone skin. If you're oily or breakout-prone, sampling before committing is worth considering.
I got a sample of the Eclat Skincare Vitamin C Face Serum a few months ago, and even though it was just a tiny sample, I was so impressed. The texture, feel, and results were noticeable right away, so I knew I had to get the full size. I finally ordered it and I absolutely love it. I like how my skin feels after using it. It is smooth, hydrated, and looks brighter, even with just applying it during the day when I am at home. The serum absorbs quickly, doesn’t feel sticky, and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and nourished. I also love that it targets dark spots and includes vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, which makes me feel like I’m really doing something good for my skin. The quality feels high-end, and I feel confident knowing I am using a product that is effective and gentle. Overall, this serum has quickly become a favorite in my skincare routine. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to brighten their skin, hydrate, and improve overall skin texture.
Read on Amazon ↗Dec. 15, 2025, initial review: I received the Éclat Vitamin C serum and cream one week ago. It’s been a great addition to my routine. I’m 59, my dad was a dermatologist. I’m big into skincare and only use products backed by science. I like the consistency of the serum. It’s like water, so it mixes great with The Ordinary Buffet with Copper Peptides and Growth Factor serums. Apply mixed in a bottle, your hand or one at a time. All formulas compatible to do either. Next, I add my Rx Retin-A 0.05% to the Vitamin C cream, so it’s easier to spread the Retin-A (tretinoin). This is so perfect. They are ideally compatible. So far, no burning, redness or peeling with the added Vitamin C products. Make sure you treat your face, neck, chest and hands exactly the same, so none of them give away your age! My goal for the added Vitamin C is to even out my skin tone. I have very minimal sun damage. I haven’t tanned since 10th grade. But, we can always improve our skin tone and texture. The cream is a velvety smooth gel-cream texture, which is fabulous. It’s unscented, also good. The serum dries quickly, absorbs easily, as does the cream. No greasiness or oiliness during the day or breakouts. I use It Cosmetics powder foundation and Maybelline Age Rewind concealer. Both are great and compatible with all the products mentioned, and all available on Amazon. I will update review with results after I finish the first bottle and jar, then again in 3 months and 6 months. Be mindful of sun exposure when using Vitamin C, Retin-A or anything that increases cell turnover, so you don’t get burned, accidentally. I prefer sunscreen with clear zinc, and/or mineral barriers, rather than chemical sunscreens. I think Éclat products are very well formulated and reasonably priced. Results TBD!
Read on Amazon ↗I’ve been using the Eclat Skincare Vitamin C Serum for a while now, and I’m happy enough with the results that I have it on subscription. The serum is lightweight, absorbs quickly, and layers well under my moisturizer and sunscreen. I’ve noticed my skin looks brighter and more even over time, and some of my dark spots have started to fade with consistent use. The combination of vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and ferulic acid gives my skin a hydrated, healthy glow without feeling greasy or heavy. It hasn’t caused irritation for my skin, and I appreciate that it feels gentle while still being effective. Results are gradual, but with regular use, it definitely makes a difference. Overall, it’s a good value for the price, and I plan to continue using it as part of my daily skincare routine and I have a monthly subscription
Read on Amazon ↗While I was excited to try this popular toner for its soothing ingredients like Teatree and Niacinamide, it didn't quite work for my specific skin type. Here is a breakdown of my experience: Texture & Weight: Contrary to many "watery" toners, I found this formula to be not very lightweight. It felt a bit heavy on my skin and didn't absorb as quickly as I had hoped. Skin Reaction: Unfortunately, after a few days of consistent use, I noticed it started to clog my pores. This eventually led to some breakouts, which is the opposite of what I was looking for in a "Miracle Toner." Application Issues: Because of the heavier feel, I noticed it didn't sit as well under my other skincare products. Additionally, I experienced some eye irritation if the product got anywhere near my lash line, so you have to be very careful during application. Final Verdict: While the ingredients list is impressive, this product was too heavy for my sensitive, acne-prone skin. If you have oily skin or are prone to congestion, I would suggest patch-testing this first, as it may be too rich and cause further breakouts.
Read on Amazon ↗My skin has never looked brighter. A few drops in the morning make a huge difference in texture and radiance. Absorbs quickly without leaving a sticky residue. I love that it works well under makeup and layers nicely with my other skincare products.

Eclat Clarifying Niacinamide Serum with Zinc & Hyaluronic Acid: frequently asked questions
What does the Eclat Clarifying Niacinamide Serum actually do?
This serum combines niacinamide with zinc and hyaluronic acid to target three common concerns at once: excess oil, enlarged-looking pores, and uneven tone. Niacinamide helps regulate sebum and visibly fade dark spots over time, zinc supports a clearer complexion, and hyaluronic acid keeps skin hydrated so it doesn't overcorrect into dryness.
What skin types is this serum best for?
It's a strong fit for oily, combination, and acne-prone skin thanks to the oil-controlling niacinamide and zinc duo. Dry skin types can use it too—the hyaluronic acid provides lightweight hydration—though very dry or sensitive skin may want to patch-test first, as zinc can occasionally cause mild irritation for reactive complexions.
Is niacinamide serum really effective?
Yes, niacinamide is one of the most well-researched actives in skincare. Consistent daily use has been shown to reduce the appearance of pores, control shine, even out skin tone, and strengthen the skin barrier. Results aren't overnight—most people notice a meaningful difference after four to eight weeks of regular use.
Can I use hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and zinc together?
Absolutely—these three ingredients are highly compatible and actually complement each other well. Niacinamide and zinc work together to manage oil and breakouts, while hyaluronic acid balances the routine by drawing moisture into the skin. There's no known interaction to worry about, making this combination a practical choice for oily or blemish-prone skin.
What should I avoid using with niacinamide and zinc?
High-concentration vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) is often cited as a pairing to approach carefully with niacinamide, as it can reduce the efficacy of both actives at low pH. Strong exfoliating acids like glycolic or salicylic acid used simultaneously may also cause irritation. If your routine includes those ingredients, stagger them to different steps or alternate mornings and evenings.
When should I apply this serum—morning, night, or both?
Niacinamide is stable and gentle enough for both AM and PM use. In the morning it helps control midday shine and supports your skin barrier ahead of SPF. At night it works alongside your skin's natural repair cycle. Start once daily if your skin is new to actives, then build to twice daily as tolerated.
How does this compare to a hyaluronic acid–focused serum?
A dedicated HA serum like the Tree of Life Hyaluronic Acid Serum prioritizes deep hydration and plumping. The Eclat Clarifying Serum uses HA as a supporting ingredient while centering niacinamide and zinc—so it's the better pick if pores, oiliness, or breakouts are your primary concern, rather than dryness or fine lines.
